    Interface AiSearchSettings

Settings for a single-instance AI Search binding.

The binding name, plus retrieval options every request inherits. Which instance the binding points at is instance_name in wrangler.json rather than a setting here — it has to exist in the namespace at deploy time, which makes it a deployment fact rather than a runtime one.

    Hierarchy (View Summary)

    Index
    binding: string

Name of the binding as declared in wrangler.json.

    options?: AiSearchOptions

Retrieval options applied to requests that name none of their own.

How many chunks to return, the score floor, whether to rerank — the kind of thing a deployment tunes once and every call site would otherwise restate.

Applied all-or-nothing, the same way WorkflowSettings treats retention: a request that names ai_search_options at all owns the whole object. Deep-merging four nested sub-objects would produce an effective configuration no call site could predict from reading itself.
